Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once your account is deleted, you will lose access to all your transaction history, saved preferences, and any remaining balance. Please ensure you have backed up any important information before proceeding.

How to Request Data Deletion
Follow these steps to request the deletion of your account and personal data:
1. Prepare Your Request
Before submitting your deletion request, please:
- Withdraw any remaining cryptocurrency balance
- Complete any pending transactions
- Download your transaction history if needed
- Note down any important account information
2. Contact Our Privacy Team
Send an email to our dedicated privacy team with the following information:
- Your full name as registered with Xpend
- The phone number associated with your account
- Your WhatsApp number (if different)
- Reason for deletion (optional but helpful)
- Confirmation that you understand the permanent nature of deletion

3. Verification Process
For security purposes, we will verify your identity before processing the deletion:
- We may ask for additional verification details
- You may need to confirm your request via WhatsApp
- We'll verify that all pending transactions are completed
- We'll ensure your account balance is zero
4. Deletion Processing
Once verified, your deletion request will be processed:
- Your account will be deactivated immediately
- Personal data will be deleted within 30 days
- You'll receive a confirmation email
- Any remaining data will be permanently erased

Data Retention Exceptions
Due to legal and regulatory requirements, some data may be retained for longer periods:
Financial Records
Transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with financial regulations and tax requirements. This includes transaction amounts, dates, and recipient information.
Legal Requirements
If there are ongoing legal proceedings or investigations, we may be required to retain certain data until the matter is resolved.
Security Logs
Security-related logs and audit trails may be retained for up to 2 years to maintain system security and investigate potential fraud.
What Happens After Deletion
After your account is deleted:
- You will no longer be able to access Xpend services
- Your WhatsApp chat history with Xpend will remain (you can delete this manually)
- You will not receive any further communications from us
- If you wish to use Xpend again, you'll need to create a new account
- Any retained data (due to legal requirements) will be automatically deleted when no longer required
Alternative Options
Before requesting complete deletion, consider these alternatives:
Temporary Deactivation
You can temporarily deactivate your account and reactivate it later. This preserves your data and transaction history.
Data Export
Request a copy of your data before deletion. This allows you to keep your transaction history for personal records.
Privacy Settings
Adjust your privacy settings to limit data collection while keeping your account active.
